MISSION STATEMENT
Bridgwater Baptist Church has recently undergone extensive renovation work as part of the Energise Project, which includes The Cellar Coffee Bar. The Coffee Bar is run by Bridgwater Baptist Church and is a part of their outreach and ministry. Here we have an opportunity to meet with members of the community in an informal way to offer a safe and welcoming environment which demonstrates the Christian ethos of love, kindness, and compassion.
In particular, we want to offer a friendly space to people who might be struggling with their mental health. To help achieve this we have affiliated with Renew Wellbeing, a Christian charity which helps churches set up a “quiet shared space where it’s OK to not be OK”.
This involves sharing conversation, crafts and prayer times during Renew Wellbeing sessions, and partnering with local mental wellbeing providers to direct people towards a service that might meet their needs.
General management of the Cellar Coffee Bar is undertaken by the management team. Daily running is overseen by the Project Worker.
We value diversity and do not require volunteers to be Christian, but we would ask that you keep in mind that as a volunteer interacting with the public you will be a representation of Bridgwater Baptist Church and of the Christian faith, so conduct should always be in line with the Christian ethos.
